I really enjoy this lipstick. When I haven’t worn a red lipstick in a while, this is the one that smiles at me from my collection and persuades me to have a red-lipstick-with-winged-eyeliner day. The lipstick itself is very high quality. Richly pigmented, delicately scented, moisturising and applies evenly. The colour in Greta is a gorgeous red – not too blue, not too orange – so as close to a true red as you’re likely to get. The packaging is delightfully decadent and practical, as the flip out mirror allows you to touch up anywhere in an elegant fashion. I do wish that Guerlain sold refills though. The packaging feels wasteful to simply throw away.
The Guerlain Lip Liner in Rouge Cassis matches almost perfectly (perhaps it has a little more pink in it than the lipstick itself, but not much) and keeps the lipstick from feathering. I’m generally not a huge lip liner fan, as I like my lipsticks to fade away naturally through the day, but this one feels comfortable on and works with the lipstick really well.
I bought the Rouge de G lipstick in Greta from David Jones for AUD $68. Strawberrynet.com did start selling these lipsticks online, but they have since disappeared from the Guerlain page. You can buy selected colours from the Rouge de G line on Ebay, but the best bet for ‘Greta’ is yor local department store. The Lip Pencil in ‘Rouge Cassis’ retails for AUD $40 in David Jones, so I bought mine from alicebeautygiftshopllc for USD $12.95 plus $7.65 shipping to Australia.
