I was persuaded to buy this by a friend of mine, and I’m very glad she talked me into it. The NARS eyeshadow duo in Kalahari is a fantastic pairing of shadows to throw on when you’ve overslept and you’ve got five minutes to get ready.
The lighter colour reminds me of Tempting from MAC, but instead of being shot with gold, it’s shot with pink (you can just see it in the photo above). The darker colour has a slight plummy undertone and is perfect for the crease, but I like to run the colour under my lower lash line too. As a glasses wearer, I’m finding myself gravitating more towards darker neutrals and smokey eyes, as they show off you eye better behind a set of specs. This duo fits that bill perfectly. After I apply this, I don’t find myself reaching for Handwritten (MAC) to darken the colour in the crease, I’m good to go.
Lately, I’ve loved pairing this with Lancome’s Le Stylo Waterproof in Cafe. Usually I wear a lot of black liquid liner, both for the look and the staying power, but I wanted a change so I bought this waterproof eyeliner in the deepest brown I could find.
I’m very used to eyeliner pencils either fading away or running down my face, so I don’t have a large collection of them. Not only does this pencil look great on the top and bottom lashline with NARS Kalahari, but by the end of the day, it’s actually still there. It enhances an eye without the harshness of a black eyeliner, and is great for creating a smokey eye look. I’ve never used an eyeliner pencil from Lancome, but now I intend on trying more.
The whole look is great finished off with Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer (great for fair skin), Chanel’s Rose Bronze, MAC’s Blonde’s Gold pigment as a highlight, Covergirl’s Lashblast mascara, and pretty much any lip gloss you like. Best of all, it’s really quick and looks like you put in much more time into your makeup than you actually did.
I purchased NARS Kalahari from KissAndMakeupNY.com for USD $32.95 plus $7.95 shipping, and the Lancome Le Stylo Waterproof in Cafe from AllCosmeticsWholesale.com for USD $7.99 plus $3.75 shipping to Australia.
