After my great success with the Barbie Loves Stila All Doll’d Up Eyeshadow Palette (read my review here) I was inspired to ‘shop my stash’ so to speak and investigate any other Stila palettes I had lurking around.
I discovered another palette which was released in January 2009 as part of Stila’s Spring Collection, and I really don’t know why I let this retreat to the back of my collection.
The palette itself is made from a faux mother of pearl, and the shadows themselves “contain genuine pearl” according to the write-up. I don’t think the “pearl” makes much of a difference to anything, but the shadows are beautiful. They are soft, highly pigmented and are easy to work with.
There are six shadows in all. I think the white/gold and pink shadows will be best used as highlighters or for a wash of colour.
I use the indigo and bronze shadows for contouring the eye and as a liner, and the green is light enough for me to use all over the lid. The rosey pink colour is great as an all over lid and crease colour on lazy days.
Here are the shadows swatched. I particularly like the indigo shadow in the middle – I don’t have anything else like it in my collection.
This palette may prove a little scary for neutral lovers, but as with the All Doll’d Up Palette, you can achieve quite a variety of neutral looks with this. I just love the irridescent look of each shadow.
