I picked up Smashbox Lip Tech in Perfect Pout on Ebay a few months ago as I was in a matte-lipstick-buying sort of mood. A quick Google search revealed that this colour was originally part of a QVC line-up.
The quality of the Smashbox Lip Techs is outstanding. They are described on Smashbox’s website as having a “matte-satin formula”, and they’re not wrong. If you’ve been looking for an easy to wear matte lipstick, this is it. On the lips this is a matte lipstick with a healthy-looking finish; not dry looking at all. The formula also contains Vitamin E and emollients, so it feels very moisturising when applied and very comfortable to wear on the lips.
I was very sceptical about the usefulness of the silicon applicator hidden under the product, but this is infact a very efficient way of applying the lipstick. The applicator bends to the contour of your lips and ensures that you don’t pick up too much product. It’s also incredibly easy to clean, and there’s a mirror contained in the compact for touch-ups on the go, even though you won’t have to touch-up for hours.
The colour is perfect for me too.
It is actually a bit rosier than it appears here; it’s an easy to wear pinkish-rosey colour which suits me very well.
I did see more Smashbox Lip Tech colours at Sephora when I was there, and I’m very keen to try them out.
As I bought my Smashbox Lip Tech in Perfect Pout a while ago I can’t remember how much I paid for it, but I have seen it pop up on Ebay from time to time. You can buy the others in the range for USD $24 at Sephora.
I apologise for the late nineties hair-do I’m sporting here. I’d done something with rollers. I don’t know what I was thinking.
