When I was recently in America one of the counters that I really wanted to check out was Le Metier de Beaute. Famed for their excellent products, sleek packaging, and hefty pricetag, I had to investigate further.
I can see that Le Metier de Beaute must be giving other high-end brands like Chanel a run for their money. Everything I swatched and applied was top quality. I was initially very tempted by the eyeshadow kits (eyeshadow palettes are my drug of choice) but after visualising the mountain of palettes I have at home I decided to pass. I can’t guarantee that it won’t be my next purchase though.
Instead, I went with the Flawless Face Kit. As I was travelling, the idea of having a kit that could ‘create’ a look was very appealing.
I’ve used this kit frequently from the day I bought it. When I initially applied it I was impressed, but didn’t think much more of it. It wasn’t until I caught site of myself in a mirror later in the day that I realised what a beautiful effect this kit creates. Subtle, light-diffusing, and flattering. It also photographs beautifully.

Nothing is too over the top with this kit. You can also intensify the bronzer by adding more product and substituting a darker blush such as Laura Mercier’s Winterbloom:
The pressed powder can be applied on its own with a sponge and the effect is very pretty. It does lean a little on the yellow side but looks very natural on the skin as you can see from the photos above. I usually apply this powder as a setting powder over my foundation, as I’ve never had the patience to wash and dry sponges every day. Even when you apply lots of this powder, it doesn’t look cakey on the skin. If your skin tone is too dark for this, you can substitute for a brightening and setting powder that they also have on hand. I’m not sure how this would work if you were ordering online though.
The bronzer is incredibly natural looking, and even though it has tiny silver flecks in the pan, these don’t show up at all on the face. It pairs well with the famed ‘Echo’ blush, which seems to look fantastic on pretty much all skintones. It has a subtle gold reflect which actually looks very natural and ‘healthy’ on the skin rather than gaudy or overdone.
The highlighter was the most unexpected love for me. Looking at the pinkish tone I thought it would be too obvious on my skin, but it’s very natural and flattering indeed. It seems to melt into the skin and add just the right amount of radiance.
I love this kit. Fantastic to use when you’re travelling, or even when you’re getting ready in the morning and don’t want to think about what goes with what. Once this is applied, all you need to add is eyeshadow, mascara, and gloss and you’re ready to go.
Le Metier de Beaute Flawless Face Kaleidoscope is available from the usual suspects (Neiman Marcus, Nordstroms, Saks, Bergdorf) for USD $95. You can also buy it from Nordstroms.com for USD $95 plus a heart-stopping USD $60 for shipping through their shipping company FiftyOne. It might be useful to investigate a package forwarding service if you live outside of the States.

What a gorgeous piece of art that is! Slightly out my Dramatically Slashed Budget price range at the moment, though. SAD FACE.
Oh it’s quite lovely to look at. I’ve been hanging out to buy something from the line for so long, and my recent trip to the States was the opportunity I needed! The range is very pricey
What a fab idea to have it all there together like that
would like to see MAC do something similar
Now that’s a great idea! I’d love to see their MSF Natural in something like this
I came to same conclusions about this kit. It’s pricey, but I’ll buy another when I run out. You should definitely try the shadows, you’ll love them too.
I can’t wait to try the shadows. They look so beautiful on the eye!
This looks lovely. I really like the soft effect of the highlighter on your face. I might have to pay the counter a visit again when I go to Selfridges. I already have Le Cirque Kaleidoscope on the way!

It’s really beautiful, and I’m so jealous that you have purchased Le Cirque! I’m very much looking forward to your review x
Very VERY similar to Vidi Vici’s best selling “Small Face Case” (http://www.vdvc.com/product/bestseller.asp). Currently searching high and low for an online retailer!
Wow, that’s amazing! Do you know anything else about it? Let me know if you find an online retailer
Isn’t it just?! Vidi Vici was created by a Korean makeup artist and apparently the quality of the products is fantastic!
