The company that has the blogging world on fire at the moment is Haus of Gloi, which is described as selling “fine vegan bathing goods”. Haus of Gloi is owned by vegans Matt and Britton from Oregon who specialise in creating natural body products. They began on Etsy, and have now moved to their own website at HausOfGloi.com. Britton works on the production and creation of these amazing products, and Matt handles the graphic design of the pots you see above.
As the products I purchased were limited edition Halloween products, this post merely details my thoughts on the company and the quality of the products they produce. I thought about holding off until I received my next Haus of Gloi order, but I was eager to share my initial thoughts with you.
As you can see from the pictures above, these products arrived beautifully presented, along with a handwritten note from Matt and Britton. I ordered Pumpkin Queen Body Emulsion (full size – 6 ounces) and Pumpkin Queen Bubbling Scrub (sample size) to go with it. The sample sizes are huge at 2 ounces! I also received a free sample of ‘Imp’ perfume oil.
On opening the Pumpkin Queen Body Emulsion, I was completely bowled over by the deliciousness of the scent – spicey and good enough to eat! However, when I first used this moisturiser I got a bit slap-happy and ended up smelling like a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks for the whole day. I was fairly unimpressed with my scent selection until I started using less, which produced a much milder and more pleasing result. My skin was scented with delicate spices for the whole day, and this scent layers beautifully with many perfumes in my collection. I love spraying Tom Ford’s Black Orchid over it.
The texture of the Body Emulsion is outstanding. It feels like nearly-whipped cream, is very moisturising, and sinks in beautfully.
The Pumpkin Queen Bubbling Scrub has the same scent as the Body Emulsion, but only lightly scents the skin after the shower. The scrub is very firm which is great, because you can grab a scoop of this with your hands and really exfoliate before (around a minute later) the sugar melts away. This scrub does lather slightly too which I like. My body feels beautifully soft after using this product, and the Body Emulsion really complements the effect on my skin.
I’m really looking forward to placing my next order with Haus of Gloi. Check out their website here for a better idea of their range and a peak at their limited edition Christmas products.
I paid USD $10 for the Pumpkin Spiced Body Emulsion and $4.50 for the sample-sized Pumpkin Spiced Bubbling Scrub. Shipping to Australia was $9.00.
