I had a party to go to on Sunday that was on a posh boat, and after running around Perth for most of Saturday looking at shops, I finally threw together this outfit. I decided to quickly write about it here because when I was searching the internet last week to find out what people actually do wear on posh boats, I came up with nothing. So, this is my interpretation.
The dress is from Forever New (Claremont store), and here is a picture of it without the sash so that you can see the cut more clearly:
I love this style of dress, but it can be tricky for me to wear as I don’t have much of a waist to speak of. I thought the cut of this dress was quite flattering though, and I love the netting under the skirt of the dress to make it fuller. I love that it has pockets too! You can see this dress on the Forever New website here, but you’ll have to scroll for a bit to find it.
I picked up these ballet flats from Country Road. I don’t actually own any flat shoes, so this was a new experience for me, and an essential for boat-related activity. I noticed that some other girls wore platforms on the boat and they ended up walking around barefoot about five minutes into the party.
These shoes are leather and nubuck and have good grip on the sole:
I think $89.95 was a very good price given the quality of these shoes too.
The hat was from Top Hatters in Perth City, which is a brilliant hat shop. They have a better selection and service than David Jones, and the prices are very reasonable (I paid $70 for mine).
Lastly, if you are anywhere near a Vintage Cellars, pick up this cider. It’s brilliant. It tastes like berry lemonade and is perfect for summer.
