I bought Rouge d’Armani in a blog sale some months ago now, and as the weather is cooling down I thought I’d take it out and play around with it. I really loved the plum and berry colours I saw so much of over winter in the northern hemishpere, and I’m very happy to have to opportunity to play around with these colours myself.
The packaging is gorgeous, and everything you’d expect from Armani. The tube has a sophisticated curve and closes with a magnetised click.
The colour itself – Plum 604 – is a very dark plum-purple:
On the left is one swipe, and on the right is two:
I’ve been wearing this colour both sheered out on the lips, and in a more dramatic fashion. Whichever way I wear it I find the formula very comfortable, moisturising, and long wearing. This is a lipstick which demands perfectly groomed lips though. If there are any areas of dryness, this lipstick will find them. For this reason, it can sometimes take a bit of work to get an even application on the lips, but nothing that can’t be handled with fingers or a lip brush.
I get about three to four hours of wear from this lipstick.
Here is Rouge d’Armani in Plum 604 applied quite sheerly…
…and here is is applied in a more dramatic fashion:
It actually looks bolder in real life, but my camera couldn’t capture the drama for some reason.
I really like this colour, and I think it makes a fun alternative to red during the cooler months.
Rouge d’Armani in Plum 604 is available from David Jones in Australia for AUD $52.
