I merrily updated to the latest version of WordPress a few days ago, and my theme (the arrangement of text and images around the blog) apparently does not fit with the new version of WordPress. So on Friday, my theme was destroyed. It was so mangled that the title became just a blob of colour, text from posts no longer appeared, and the image of the girl was actually decapitated by my Twitter icon. In the mean time I’ve put up this somewhat more peaceful, temporary theme featuring sheep quietly munching next to a country lane.
Over the coming days you may see things move about on this blog. I’m thinking that I might go for a brand new theme and header, rather than try to repair the old one. Google Friend Connect and all the extras around the side will be restored in the not too distant future.
In the mean time, thanks for being patient.
The photos above show our pet sheep, Lamington, immediately after he (quite hilariously) did a spectacular face plant into some mud. The second photo shows his subsequent embarassment. This went on for some time.

that is one muddy lamington.
@Suzanne Haha! Indeed. It was hard trying to clean it off too…
Awww poor Lamington, reminds me of the looks I get after giving my cat a bath.
Is there anyway to get the text from your posts back? but on a positive note I’m excited to see what new theme and header you come up with.
@Claire Thankyou for your kind words Claire
I’m amused to hear that your cat gives you the same look! I’ve managed to retrieve all my posts/ texts, so the search for a theme continues. Fingers crossed I can make it look good.
Awww, poor Lamington, he looks so embarassed.
I think you should make your new header a Lamington one
@GlossQueen I was thinking the same thing!
Eek, I hope you get the blogging situation sorted as soon as possible!
Also I strongly advise you to set up a Lamington blog just purely for my daily enjoyment, lol.
Poor Lamington looks very embarrassed! Good luck with the new theme
@Jess Me too! Slowly but surely…
I think you and I are the only ones who would find amusement in a Lamington blog, but then again, we do have Lamington.com, so perhaps it’s meant to be?
@Jane Thankyou! Yes, Lamington was not very happy
oh dear!!
I love how you put blogging problems in perspective by showing us Lamington’s mud face. Now, that’s angst.
Oh no what happened?! I agree with the comments above – you should set Lamington up with his own blog and related Twitter account. Start with a post of mud masks, perhaps??

Here’s mud on your face! LOL I love Lamington, I want to pet it so baaaad! Okay that was not funny. :p
My google follower widget is acting strangely too. It disappeared on my into the palette blog and also disappeared on the other blog only to reappear. Google is going wonky for me at the moment.
I admire you for using wordpress, I wasn’t smart enough for it! LOL
@Jen Haha! Yes, that *is* angst
@StyleOnTheCouch Another vote for a Lamington blog! I’ll have to ask him. Just between you and me, I don’t think the mud mask was a success
@Olivia Haha! Love it! Lamington will be thrilled
I think the GFC widget has reappeared this morning. Fingers crossed that it stays! WordPress is a steep learning curve in the beginning, but then it’s quite straight forward. Apart from when things like this go wrong
I have a mortal fear of updating WordPress. I’ve done it once when my site had just a couple of posts and even then, it was stress! Now that I have so many more posts on the site, I don’t know when I dare to update again. I can’t put it off forever either!
Heh heh, Lamington looks suitably embarrassed there! I didn’t know sheep could feel embarrassed but hey, what do I know? ;D
@Witoxicity And well you should have a fear of updating hun! I’d advise against it, and perhaps try to befriend an expert in WordPress
Sheep can indeed feel embarassment – they’re very moody in general!
