A few weeks ago I read this post on the blog LondonMakeupGirl. I’ve been lusting after the Armani Eyes To Kill shadows in all their pigmented, multi-tonal glory, but have been unwilling to cough up the USD $32 to pay for one.
Grace London’s post featured a comparison between her Armani Eyes To Kills#4 (silver) shadow and the L’Oreal Color Infallible Eyeshadow in Flashback Silver, which is incredibly similar to the Armani. It’s also interesting to note that Armani is owned by L’Oreal, so perhaps the similarity between the two shadows isn’t that surprising.
So what did I do? I headed to Ebay immediately to buy a L’Oreal Color Infallible shadow. I chose ‘Burning Black’, a gorgeous blacked-purple with red undertones:
I do love a dark eyeshadow, and this is such a wonderful colour for winter. It doesn’t blend out as smoothly as my Rouge Bunny Rouge and other high end shadows, but it’s really not far off. It creases by mid-afternoon, but that’s pretty usual with my very oily lids, even with a primer.
For the price, I think this is an eyeshadow of outstanding quality, and I’m very happy to have it in my collection. The colour is interesting, flattering, and would look great on any eye colour. I would love to own the whole collection of eight shadows! Check out the other seven colours in the collection here.
I bought L’Oreal Color Infallible Eyehshadow in Burning Black from c2picky on Ebay for USD $8 plus $4.50 shipping to Australia.
