Latest Vintage Purchases from The Vintage Nook and JolieVintageShop

This is my latest vintage haul, and as usual, I love everything!

Well, the first item isn’t vintage, but I’ll throw it in anyway ;)

By the way, three cheers for DIY hair tonic! I’m so glad to not have flat hair any more :D

So anyway, the first item is a pair of Country Road jeans I picked up from The Vintage Nook in Balingup for $10! Bargain!

Plus, I’ve finally found a use for the black top I bought in London about four years ago!

The next outfit is the 50s suit I bought from The Vintage Nook and talked about briefly in this post.

The skirt is high-waisted and gives a classic 50s wiggle silhouette. Great to wear on its own.

The jacket is lovely too.

The next dress was from the The Vintage Nook too. It has a classic 1950s silhouette, and I love the peach ribbon detail around the mid-section. This will be great for spring and summer.

The last dress is from my beloved JolieVintageShop on Etsy.  And yes, a bright yellow 1960s dress *is* a sound investment in winter ;)

The top of the dress is overlayed with crocheted flowers, and the ribbon under the bust gives a flattering shape.

And that’s it! :)

Oh I LOVE the yellow dress the most – so summery and pretty :) although you carry each of these outfits of so well!

  2. Dempeaux says:

@Ki Thankyou! Yes, I loved the yellow dress when I ordered it, but I loved it even more when I tried it on! :)

I LOVE the peachy red suit. It looks awesome on you! I’m very jealous of those who can wear vintage from eras where all the women were apparently TINY.

I’m a sad bunny cos I love vintage rings, but have HUGE FAT sausagefingers and as far as I can tell all women up to the 60s had tiny little chinadoll hands.

As a side note you look exceptionally happy in the first shot!

  4. Dempeaux says:

@Suzanne Yes, women used to be tiny! It’s crazy! I mean, who on earth has a 22 inch waist? I sympathise though – my big size nine feet can’t get anywhere near vintage shoes. It’s like size nine wasn’t invented until 1981.
I saw some vintage rings at The Vintage Nook when I was last there – I’ll have a closer look when I go again.
Thankyou! I think I was happy to be out in the sunshine! :)

  5. Kathrine says:

You have such good taste. The red suit in particular looks beautiful on you x

  6. Dempeaux says:

@Katherine Thankyou! The red suit is a real find – I shall be terribly overdressed wherever I go this winter ;)

  7. Claire says:

The red looks so amazing on you! What a great find. I’m not normally a yellow person but that is a great color and style and looks wonderful on you.

  8. Dempeaux says:

@Claire Thankyou! Love the red suit! Yes, the yellow is an unexpected treasure too. It’s a colour that doesn’t feature a lot in my wardrobe! :)

  9. Lady you have some serious vintage style going on here. My favourites are the nude coloured dress with the peach stripes around the waist (gorgeous neckline) and the yellow dress because it is so different. “Wiggle” away in your sexy vintage silhouettes, you look fabulous!

  10. Dempeaux says:

@StyleOnTheCouch Thankyou! :D I love the neckline on the nude dress too. I didn’t make much of it in the pics, but it really finishes the dress off so nicely. Yellow doesn’t feature highly in my wardrobe, but I love that dress :)

  11. Witoxicity says:

You look exquisite in all of them, my dear! That red suit from The Vintage Nook was a great score. The shop (as shown in your other post) is like a candy store, for adults! The owners really pay attention to detail and that is certainly something to be appreciated. P.S. I hope you’ll go back there to get the peacock bag. It’s so gorgeous! :)

  12. Dempeaux says:

@Witoxcity Thankyou! I love The Vintage Nook. I ended up buying the peacock bag for my partner’s mum, and it turned out to me an Enid Collins original (http://www.google.com.au/search?q=enid+collins&hl=en&biw=1920&bih=960&prmd=ivnso&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=mKgyTsu1FubImAWvyODwCg&ved=0CFAQsAQ)! I need to get back there soon :)

  13. Dempeaux says:

    @StyleOnTheCouch Yes ma’am! :)

  14. Chloeblue2005 says:

Everything is gorgeous but I adore the neutral dress with the peach ribbon… sublime.

  15. Dempeaux says:

@Chloeblue2005 I love that one too – can’t wait to wear it in Spring!
