However, my hair situation was getting a bit out of control, so I just made the time and booked in with my usual salon – Toni & Guy in Cottesloe – to get a freshen up. I cannot recommend this salon enough. I’ve been going there for about three years, and every time I come out I’m absolutely staggered at how cool they make my hair look.
The colour is just how I like it: warm at the roots, then fading out to a golden blonde. The cut is very simple too: just long layers to keep shape and volume. The curls are courtesy of my stylist who likes to do pretty things with my hair before I leave the salon.
So here are some photos of my new(-ish) hair! I’ve tried to take these photos in a variety of light conditions, because I think in combination they give the best sense of the colour and cut:
I am so thrilled to be looking like a normal person again! This my-hair-but-better thing is just what I like!
And how do you keep this curly style for one more day? Just get a couple of bobby pins and pin your hair into a topknot before you go to bed. Keeps moisturiser from oiling up your hair, and you have amazing volume and curl the next day with no effort at all. Just comb out and go!
Of course, some credit for the state of my hair has to go to my DIY hair tonic that I still apply every day before blowdrying. Even my hairdresser commented on how amazing my hair felt. That stuff is fantastic.
