I’ve been using my Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre for a long time now and I’ve been incredibly happy with it, but I was beginning to wonder whether powders (both translucent and otherwise) had improved since I last tried a different brand.
You can see that Too Faced Absolutely Invisible Translucent Pressed Power is fairly standard pressed-powder-compact affair. It is tastefully designed.
I don’t find this powder as comfortable or as flattering to wear as my Chanel powder. It leaves my cheeks very dry by the end of the day, and does next to nothing in term of controlling oil through my t-zone, though it promises to “eliminate unwanted shine” on the Too Faced website.
I tried adding more powder to my face in the morning to combat the oiliness (I used a brush, as the sponge it comes with is useless), but I ended up looking very matte and cakey.
I didn’t find this powder an “environmental protection windshield” either. I think my skin felt less protected with this powder because my face was both dry and oily by the end of each day that I wore it.
I think I’ll go back to my Chanel Universelle Poudre Libre.
