L’Occitane Nuage Rouge Peony Face Colour Powder

L’Occitane has had their makeup line out for some time now, but I’ve only just managed to get my hands on this blush.  It’s everything you’d expect from a L’Occitane makeup line: natural looking colour which is paraben free with a light floral fragrance.  The whole range seems to focus on very light, natural looking makeup.

The blush itself is a rosey-pink with a slight bronze undertone, perfect for that spring time flushed-cheek look.  It does have a slight sheen, but it barely transfers to the face as you can see in the pictures below.  It looks very natural indeed when applied.

As this blush is a little on the sheer side, it’s almost impossible to overdo. The formula also doesn’t grab at dry skin on application and lasts all day. It can also be used as an eyeshadow, but on its own it looks horrible, at least on me.  However, when used as a base for another neutral shadow like Urban Decay’s Smog it gives a lovely pink undertone that’s very flattering and lasts all day.

Also, don’t be fooled by the small size.  You get 3.5 grams of product in this little pot, yet in a MAC mineralised blush you get 3.2 grams.

This is a product that can easily be overlooked because it’s an easy to apply, nearly-matte, lasts-all-day blush.  It doesn’t have glitzy packaging or a whole lot of hype surrounding it, but it is a high quality blush that will suit fair to medium skintones effortlessly.

L’Occitane Nuage Rouge Peony Face Colour Powder is now available from L’Occitane stores in Australia for AUD $25.95.

I have done a couple of posts about L’Occitane make-up. You are right, it doesn’t have the hype of the “big” lines, but it is a beautifully formulated make-up. Lovely colours, light aroma, all natural, beautiful but eco packaging, and all the peony is sourced right from the farmers. In the shop where I purchased my products, they had pictures of the farmers. I bought two lip colours which are so natural, a lip gloss, bronzer, highlighter, and eye shadow duo. Although I have used them all summer, they still have the embossed peony (unlike MAC’s overhyped sea horse blush that just faded immediately). Apparently L’occitane will be launching winter colours in November and I will definitely be buying more. Cheers from Toronto, Canada.

I’m very interested in trying other products from the line if the blush is anything to go by. I love that they have pictures of the farmers the peony has come from in the shop where you buy! What a great idea.

That embossed peony does seem to have tremendous staying power, which I love. I’ll be so interested to see what colours and products L’Occitane comes out with in November. Thanks for commenting! 🙂
