Haus of Gloi Valentine’s Collection

The Haus of Gloi Valentine’s Collection was released to great excitement all over the world.  Come Hither Pumpkin Butter sold out within hours and Something Hopeful sold out the next day.  Both scents were restocked, and sold out again days later.  Luckily I managed to snag all three Pumpkin Butters, and I’ve been enjoying them all.

Come Hither –

“Based off of traditional herbs and roots used in Hoodoo to draw and attract a lover, or entice the one you’ve already ensnared! Bourbon vanilla, tonka bean, cardamon, a touch of rose oil, Queen Elizabeth root, three threads of saffron and a touch of honey to sweeten the whole deal.”

This is probably the scent most similar to Haus of Gloi scents I’ve owned before, probably because of the saffron, Queen Elizabeth Root (earthy scent), and cardomom.  The vanilla, rose oil, and honey give it a sweetness and femininity.  This is my favourite of the three and lovely for warmer weather.

Something Hopeful –

“Perhaps the first stirrings of the spring to come. Warm sakura blossom green tea with the tiniest droplet of plum juice, red mandarin and crystallized jasmine essence”

A scent which reminds me of freshly laundered sheets, or if you ask my partner, Omo.

Who Needs Love –

“A mahogany box filled with chocolaty orbs, coated in crystallized coffee – filled with a pomegranate and raspberry filling. Who needs love when you have something this decadent?”

When I opened this and sniffed the contents, I could smell the chocolate and coffee, but it was not overly ‘ foody’.  Once I spread it on my arms, however, it turned into a coffee and dessert at a posh restaurant.  The chocolate, rasberry, and pomegranate is delicious, and the crystallized coffee adds both depth and sweetness.  I’m usually not a fan of foody scents, but scents this good make me question whether this is actually the case, as it’s put together very well.  Either way, as soon as I applied it, I had to eat the Tiramisu in the fridge immediately.  I wish I was kidding.

All three of these Pumpkin Butters will be available throughout February (subject to availability), and the scents are also available as bubbling scrubs, perfume oils, and whipped soaps.  You might like to check out the new unscented Aether range while your at the website too.

  5. Mine have arrived but I have yet to give them a proper test drive. Today is almost certainly not the time to do it. Maybe when everyone is well again!

Thanks for another lovely review. I do wish I had got hold of Come Hither. I anticipate that there will be lots of other great scents to come though so I’m sure I’ll make up for it next time.

@ModestyBrown It’s great that you have some to play around with. I think Come Hither is a lovely scent, but there’s always something to love with HoG products. I’m looking forward to their new Reverie scent too!
