Coffee Break Shopping – JolieVintageShop on Etsy

I don’t know about you, but my online vintage dress browsing usually goes like this:

Looks like an old rag

80s tragic

70s hippy

Who on earth has a 22 inch waist?

You see my problem. I love vintage styles, but it can be a hit (and very) miss affair.  Add to that the issue of my specs, which if I’m not careful, can turn the wrong kind of vintage dress into Nanna-wear on me.

However, I’ve recently discovered JolieVintageShop on Etsy, and it’s one of my latest obsessions.  Their stock is really well chosen, good quality clothing and the prices are very reasonable indeed. Here are some of my current favourites:

1960s Belle du Jour Dress in Peachy Cream $94 –

1960s Gold Shift Dress with Contrast Chartreuse Floral Pattern $68 –

1960s Party Dress with Lace and Bow $70 –

1940s Film Noir Dress with Sequin Detail $78 –

1950s Royal Blue Grace Kelly Dress $88 –

1960s Ivory Cocktail Dress $68 –

1960s Aquamarine Party Dress $72 –

1960s Teal Satin Brocade Wiggle Cocktail Dress $68 –

I just bought the 1940s Film Noir dress. It’s unlike anything else in my wardrobe, and I love that it has a 1940s shape but it’s not too ‘boxy’. Shipping for each dress is $15 to Australia, but the seller does combined shipping too.

Now, back to work for me!

  1. I’m quite partial to that aquamarine 1960s party dress as well – such a lovely colour and style!

@Julia It’s really gorgeous, and I think the fabric would feel really floaty and feminine against the skin 🙂

Ahh I know the problemo, I have a fair amount of vintage and it’s hard to find that balance between awesome and granny, even the smallest things like accessories can transform granny style to sexy style – a killer pair of kitten heels, some standout jewellery 😀

  4. Dempeaux says:

@Jade That’s a really good point Jade – I shall have to look into using accessories a bit more to transform an outfit. I actually don’t have that many!

  5. I’ve had a really hit and miss experience on Ebay with vintage styles also. I should try this shop….

@StyleOnTheCouch I love Ebay, but I find shopping for vintage pieces so much easier on Etsy. This shop is amazing too – I keep stalking it to see if there’s any new stock! 🙂
