Invisible Zinc Environmental Skin Protector SPF 30+

I purchased a bottle of Invisible Zinc Environmental Skin Protector SPF 30+ after encountering lots of rave reviews.  This is a physical barrier sunscreen specifically designed for use on the face (as opposed to chemical) and comes in a pump bottle .

I only managed to wear this sunscreen a few times because it was absolute torture on my dry skin. It emphasised lines I didn’t even realise I had, and left my skin feeling very dry only an hour into wear.  It’s very difficult to wear under foundation as it doesn’t allow for easy application of any makeup over the top.  It also took some fairly serious makeup remover to take this sunscreen off at the end of the day, and left a slight white cast on my face.

However, having said all of this, if you have oily skin this product would be a godsend.  It would mop up any excess oil and stay put throughout the hottest of days.

I bought Invisible Zinc Environmental Skin Protector SPF 30+ for AUD $35 from Priceline.

That’s interesting- I wonder whether it’s the same formula as the one IZ that comes in the short stubby pump bottle? That actually makes my skin feel quite greasy..

great for running though, as it’s waterproof

Yes, I did wonder that. This really didn’t work for me, but perhaps there’s something else in the range that will? Definitely a great product for running. You could feel confident that you had full sun protection! 🙂

Oh oh! I have oily skin! Sorry it didn’t work out for you but now that summer is coming here this is now top of my list for things I really need to get.

  4. Thank you for the excellent review. I have been looking at this brand and I’m sure I would struggle with this with my skin type. I need no help accentuating my lines! x

  5. Dempeaux says:

@Claire I think this is something that might work really well for you! Definitely check it out – it might be the sunscreen you’ve always wanted! 🙂

  6. Dempeaux says:

@ModestyBrown It was a surprise for me – I really thought I’d like this suncreen! x

  7. Jade says:

Yeh I agree about this one, I only wear it when I’m going to be out in the blaring sun and sweating (like going for a run) I never wear it with makeup. And totally agree about it being drying to the skin and difficult to remove.

  8. Dempeaux says:

@Jade That’s interesting! I’ve got an almost full bottle to use up now, so if I don’t meet someone with oily skin I think that’s what I’ll use it for 🙂

  9. Suzanne says:

oh man! I’m oily as sin, I should give this a shot.

  10. Dempeaux says:

@Suzanne Definitely! I think it would work really well 🙂

I went through the face and body tube of this last summer despite there being a no summer in the UK and really liked it. I also bought the tinted version for the face which was incredibly dark but suprisingly forgiving, agree about the dryingness, even I needed to put on top of a moisturiser. Great helpful review. Jan x

@Jan That’s really interesting! I’m really glad it worked for you, because it seems like an effective product if you don’t have dry skin 🙂
