Miss Ballantyne – Handyman’s Cream Wax

The latest barrier cream from Etsy that I’ve been trying out is the Handyman’s Cream Wax from Miss Ballantyne on Etsy, which, as the image suggests, is thick enough to repair even the most damaged workman’s hands.

Clearly I am not a workman – communist or otherwise – but this cream does a great job of repairing my hands overnight.  The texture is smooth and thick, and it absorbs into the skin well.  It has a medicinal smell like a lot of other barrier creams, but that doesn’t really bother me.

The main ingredients are Shea Butter, Olive Oil, Aloe Vera, and Bee’s Wax.  These ingredients work wonders on my exceedingly dry hands, and for someone with ‘ normal’ skin this would make an excellent treatment.

I purchased Handyman’s Cream Wax (120ml)  from Miss Ballantyne on Etsy for USD $16 plus $7.50 shipping to Australia. MissBallantyne’s stock frequently sells out, so if you want one of her product just ‘convo’ her and she will let you know when it will be back in stock.  She is a delightful seller to deal with.

@Jade Haha thankyou! She’s a great seller, and I love the consistency of this barrier cream 🙂

  3. This sounds great. I don’t work, I’m not a Communist and I’m obviously not a man but I swear I have the hands of someone that works out in the field! This sounds like it would be great in combination with cotton gloves as a night time treatment. Thanks for sharing.

That packaging. That packaging! I want a tub just for the great label.

@ModestyBrown Me too! It would make a fab treatment for us non-workmen 🙂

@SwatchGirl I must admit, the packaging is what first caught my eye. It’s very cool!

  7. Do you ever use a similar cream for your feet? I’ve been given a couple of kind of “kits” for your feet where you use cream then wear these socks overnight… it makes for not a sexy picture overall but I’m willing to give it a go if I can get softer tootsies! Any thought?

@StyleOnTheCouch Funnily enough, I’ve been considering doing just that! I think barrier cream is the perfect overnight treatment for dehydrated tooties 🙂
