Products That Don’t Quite Hit the Mark

These are the products that you shouldn’t waste your money on:

Rimmel’s Rapid Ruby: Love the colour, hate the way it chips almost instantly and then smears and stains your hands when you try to remove it.  For my original review, click here.

Bys Nail Enamel Top Coat: This may be a good top coat, but I’ll never know because as soon as I open the bottle I am repelled by the toxic fumes eminating from the bottle.  This one’s going in the bin.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E: This moisturises pretty well, but the smell of artifical chocolate is so overwhelming that I can’t bring myself to finish the half bottle I have left.  I’m definitely going for the orginal formula next time.

St Ives Apricot Scrub: I would never put this on my face (it’s too harsh) but thought it might be good as a body exfoliant.  Guess what?  It’s still too harsh to use on the body!  I feel like I’m using a scourer, not a scrub.

I find any of the palmers products a bit over bearing smell wise. Although their Shea Butter shower gel is quite nice for a cheapie :o)

Oh really? Even the original formula? Perhaps I should just try out the Shea Butter shower gel 🙂

Yeah it’s all too powdery smelling for me and I find the original one has quite a cocoa scent to it also? Their shimmer moisturiser is quite nice but the smell is overpoweing too.

I need to find a good non fragrant (or lightly fragrant) moisturiser that wont clash with my perfume! :o)

Oh right! 🙂 I’ve been looking for the same thing: a moisturiser that doesn’t overpower my perfume (still want to use the Elizabeth Arden at night though – so nice). I’ve been using the Mario Badescu Formula 200 Body Lotion which isn’t scented and is a great moisturiser, and the Mario Badescu Summer Shine Body Lotion which has a kind of fake coconut smell that fades after about 15 minutes. That one has some really light shine particles through it too. Reviews to follow 🙂
